GROVE THE GROVE INITIATIVE

We are excited to officially kickoff round two of the Grow the Grove initiative! The program was approved by TMNA membership and Grow-the-Grove-Application was made available to members at the last quarterly meeting. To recap, the initiative plans to plant Live Oaks in our neighborhood to replace significant tree lost over recent years:

• TMNA has lost many mature trees due to droughts, freezes, and new home builds.
• Live Oaks are evergreens that love the Houston climate and are drought, heat, and freeze tolerant.
• Old tree growth is the staple of Timbergrove and we have an opportunity to make shaded streets a reality.
• The objective of this two-year initiative to plant approximately 50 Live Oak trees supplied from local nurseries.
• Members of TMNA can fill out an application form requesting to have a tree planted in their yard. The application will need to be approved by the TMNA board.
• The requirements for planting a tree include commitment by the resident to watering and caring for the tree, specific setbacks, and for being a dues-paying TMNA member.
