Block Captains

TMNA is actively trying to revive our block captain program. If you or someone you know is interested in helping the neighborhood – this is a great way to do it and get to know your neighbors. Below are more details. Please message us if you would like to get involved 😉

Block captains are critical to helping our neighborhood function. They have 4 very important duties.

  1. Act as the TMNA “focal point” for their block – encourage TMNA membership; communicate & encourage participation in TMNA meetings & events; provide feedback to TMNA Executive Committee on residents’ concerns & suggestions.
  2. Welcome new residents within their block – provide them with a “welcome package” that includes information on the neighborhood and on how to join TMNA.
  3. Host or recruit someone (or several) on your block to host a National Night Out party one night/year. NNO is the first Tuesday in October, starting at 6pm. You can even join activities with another block to make it double the fun. This can be as simple as setting up chairs at the end of your driveway to mingle or can be more involved with snacks to offer, etc.
  4. Help with our dues drive yearly by kindly reminding your neighbors on your block or putting up a sign in your yard.

* Please note that you do not have to live on a block to be its designated block captain. You can also share the duties with a friend or other neighbor to lessen the task.
