Neighborhood Wide Garage Sale
When: Saturday, November 8, 2025, 8:00am – 11:00am
The neighborhood association will:
- Get the word out (Facebook, Instagram, Newsletter, website)
- Post signs on 11th & TC Jester esplanades the day before the event
Your job:
- Start cleaning out, collecting, and organizing your garage sale items
- Schlep your goods to YOUR driveway from 8am – 11am on Saturday, November 8. Each homeowner participating hosts the sale at your own home (no central garage sale location for everyone).
- Donate some of your proceeds (10%?) back to TMNA. These funds will go towards Grow the Grove (a tree planting initiative to help replace some of the trees we’ve lost thru the years).
Lessons learned from last year:
- Be ready….and early. For those new to the garage sale game – expect people early. Most driveways were buzzing by 7am while folks were setting up. Have small bills on hand to make change. Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal are options, but cash is king in the garage sale world.
- Spread the word. I cannot tell you how many people told me afterwards, “I would have participated if I would have known about it.” The more sales on your street, the more foot traffic. It benefits everyone.
- Neighborhood Night Out is in October. Mention it to all who attend.
- Cool stuff. As they say – “On man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” If possible, have a look at the sales yourself. It’s been fun hearing about rugs, dining tables, toys, and curios making it from one neighbor’s house to another.
- Weather. If you’re the praying sort start praying for good weather. It was a beautiful day last year and that always helps to bring in buyers.
